Sweet Briar roses grow wild in the mountains of Virginia. They are said to represent hope. The sweet briar rose is believed to have healing powers, and can adapt to various  kinds of conditions. 

Our Tribe is like the Sweet Briar Rose...we have learned to adapt, grow in adversity, and simply thrive in God's grace.

Our family journey began over 30 years ago...just two young adults who fell in love with Jesus and with each other. As our love for one another grew, so did our family. God blessed us with 11 beautiful children. Life has not always been easy for our Tribe. We have had to overcome many obstacles and challenges. It has been said that the thorns in the rose bush represent the trials we face in life. But among the thorns, roses continue to bloom and flourish. It is a gentle reminder that we are called to continually grow in our faith and walk with God. Just as a rose can withstand harsh conditions and still blossom with grace, we  too must remain steadfast in our faith...always trusting that God works all things together for our good.​It is our hope and prayer that Sweet Briar Farm will nourish the body with the best quality raw milk, pasture raised chicken, and herbal tonics. But we want to be more than that. We want to encourage you in your marriage, stand beside you as you navigate your way through parenting, and simply be your neighbor. We pray that our farm has the aroma of the sweet smell of God's grace.
